About Course

Presented by master trainer Hayley Alexander, this is a specialist course for yoga teachers who wish to further their knowledge and work with pregnant women. The course offers unique approach to teaching pregnancy yoga, which can be adapted to teaching private clients or group classes.  

The main objective of this course is for yoga teachers to feel empowered and comfortable working with pregnant women and to be able to structure a class that is suitable for all stages of pregnancy.

The course is set out to dispel any fears about pregnancy, answer and discuss questions and to provide practical experience in fun and relaxed atmosphere. Instructors will also learn how to quickly think on the spot should a pregnant woman arrive or wish to join one of their regular yoga classes.

There is also a bonus section that deals with adaptations for teaching in the post-natal period, i.e., the first 12 weeks after a woman has had her baby.

What Will You Learn?

  • Endorsed by the Yoga Teachers Fellowship since 2010, the Yoga for All Trimesters course has equipped over 300 instructors with the knowledge and skills to safely and confidently teach pregnancy yoga. This specialised training supports the well-being of both expectant mothers and their babies, helping instructors turn their passion into a meaningful career path while contributing to maternal health.
  • The course is uniquely structured to address the specific needs of each trimester, focusing on common pregnancy symptoms and how yoga can alleviate them. Participants will explore topics such as the impact of pregnancy hormones, trimester-specific cautions, safe breathing techniques, and appropriate adaptations for various poses. Practical tools like class structure planning, relaxation techniques, and partner work are also covered to ensure a well-rounded teaching approach.
  • By the end of the course, graduates will be confident in offering safe, supportive yoga classes for pregnant students. The training includes a variety of real-world applications - from managing common complaints like back pain and nausea to guiding postpartum recovery. Upon successful completion, students will earn a certificate accredited by the Yoga Teachers Fellowship and gain 6 CPD points, recognising their professional development in this specialised field.
