Dear Evolvers,
I remember a year ago, on International Yoga Day, when our Keep Evolving team gathered at the Wanderers Stadium for the first time. We played and danced in the sun in our matching T-shirts, capturing the moment with photos. The dream was born that day: to create a wellness community supported by a team of diverse mentors willing to collaborate and share their expertise. Our vision included developing courses, launching a podcast, and taking our work into corporate settings to change lives.
A year later, as I reflect, it’s been quite a journey of moving forward, back-pedalling, and constant readjusting… Some members have chosen different paths, while new Evolvers have joined us along the way. But we’re still here, moving onward. I’m thrilled to announce that our first series of courses is now available to explore and purchase!
For those of you who are new to our community, a warm welcome.

Get a grip on longevity: Why muscle strength matters more than you think
We’ve all heard the usual checklist for living longer: eat your greens, up the protein, take collagen, walk 10,000 steps, skip the second glass of wine, and meditate your way to inner peace. It’s sound advice, but let’s be honest… it can feel like a full-time job just staying well. But what if one of the simplest, most overlooked signs of longevity is literally in your hands?
Muscles aren’t just for show. They’re essential for staying strong, independent, and vibrant as we age. And one of the most surprising ways to predict how well you’re ageing? Grip strength.

Let’s get cooking!
A delicious winter recipe from Kyle at Meraki Meals.
Garlic, Leek & Potato Soup
A heartwarming dish for winter days, using in-season veggies and health-promoting ingredients like extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and leeks.
Ingredients:
- Leeks (4 cups worth)
- Olive oil (or butter or ghee)
- Garlic
- Fresh thyme
- Potatoes — whatever’s available
- Veggie broth or chicken stock
- Salt and pepper
- Freshly cut spring onion (also in season)
- Optional: Fresh chives & herbed croutons
Cooking steps:
- Dice your leeks and spring onion. Peel and slice your potatoes.
- Heat olive oil in a pan on medium. Sauté the leeks, spring onion, and garlic for 8-10 mins until leeks are tender.
- Add thyme, broth, and sliced potatoes. Simmer with the lid on for about 15 minutes.
- Blend the soup until creamy or to your desired texture.
- Remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve with herbed croutons and freshly diced chives.
- Enjoy!
