Marise Dusheiko

As a former professional ballerina, Marise Dusheiko has dedicated over 15 years to understanding and teaching movement. From her career as a dancer to her current role as a post-natal fitness and women’s health coach, she believes that freedom of movement and a powerful body are everyone's birthright. Her experience in the fitness industry has highlighted a critical lack of movement as a significant contributor to depression, premature aging, and illness. Marise's mission is to help women prioritise their health and rediscover their power through movement. She aims to empower women to feel strong, beautiful, and confident in their bodies, enabling them to live long, happy, and fulfilling lives.
In terms of wellbeing, what is the best thing you have ever invested in?
Flexibility, without a doubt. Maintaining mobility should be on everyone’s to-do list. Flexibility is what I believe to be the Elixir of Life, the real ‘Fountain of Youth’.  When you have a body that can move with total freedom, no pain, no discomfort, no limitations, that’s youth and health and vitality.
Of all your accomplishments, what has been the most meaningful for you?
Performing the role of The White Cat in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS, the musical. It was my childhood dream since the age of 13.
When are you most happy?
When I’m in nature and doing something active. Movement combined with the outdoors is my religion.
If you could do any course, what would you consider?
Because of my stage of life and current goals, I have a number of business growth and marketing courses I’d like to do. But on a deeper level, something around truly believing you are enough just as you are, with or without awards, accolades and achievements.
Has anyone helped to guide you personally in your evolving journey?
I have read several books which have completely changed the way I look at the world and impacted who I am today. The books by Anita Moorjani, Abraham Hicks and Dr Joe Dispenza have been life changing for me.
Do you have any advice for someone struggling to get motivated/ stuck in a mental rut?
Get on the visualisation train. I know it’s a bit woo-woo for many people, but it has enormous power. Your mind can make or break you in any and all areas of your life so why not train it to ‘make’ you. Visualisation is the perfect tool for training your mind to look forward to something you usually dread doing.
