OK, so this is the prophecy. I have a prophecy. And I’m telling you it’s going to come real.
Just watch. In the next ten years or so, maybe even less. And it’s going to go like this. We’ll never ever take a chance in job interviews ever again. You’ll never believe in anyone’s curriculum vitae ever again. And when you go on a date with your online partner that you’ve never met, that you’ve been exchanging messages with, but now you meet them on a date in a real-life situation, you’ll never ever make the mistake of choosing the wrong partner.
And this is how it’s going to happen. Imagine you set that date up, you arrange the restaurant, the time, and that gorgeous girl or that handsome guy arrives and they look really nice. They look really nice, but looks may be deceiving. So before you order the bottle of wine and the expensive meal, you just say to them, look, can you just put this hat on?
And it’s a special hat with lots of little wires and lights, and they put it on. Then you look at your phone, and you push a button—it’s linked to an app—and it scans their brain. The EEG machine hat registers their brain waves, it also does a little MRI and says:
Warning, warning, warning.
- Prefrontal cortex is not as thick as it should be.
- Temporal to insular pole also suffering badly, which means they are an emotional wreck.
- Parietal region is underdeveloped, which means they cannot empathize with you, they have no training in empathy.
- But the biggest one—the prefrontal cortex—means they have no focus, they’re going to be distracted, they’re probably struggling to keep their job.
- Warning, warning. Amygdala at the back of the head, which is the fight, flight, or freeze center, is unusually large, which means that this person is always in a state of fight, flight, or freeze.
And the question that will come up on the app is: Do you really want to date this person?
I know it sounds crazy, I know, but it’s coming. It’s coming—watch, it’s coming—because it’s here now. Neuroscientists can literally go into the brain—MRI, fMRI, EEG—they can learn so much about you from the shape of your brain. It’s true. It’s true.
This is a remarkable, remarkable idea. I would love to just go on that date, and that person is looking great, and you scan their brain, and it says:
Oh, this brain is really sexy. This person is really nice. Order the wine, enjoy the meal.
Order the wine, enjoy the meal.
God Bless.
